Well, I have no idea how to do the literal crossing out of a square on my bingo card so I shall just record each square in a post.

I chose 'listen to the OST' as it was one of the first things I asked about on [community profile] sid_guardian because I wanted to buy it. Thanks to helpful suggestions, I eventually tracked it down Amazon music under the helpful name of 'Soundtrack for the Online Drama Guardian'.

It was no hardship to listen to it again this evening as it is one of my favourites.

The lovely mods of [community profile] sid_guardian are running a celebratory round of bingo for an awesome member milestone for the comm and I am giving my first fandom bingo card a go.

Slightly excited and slightly panicking but I am game for a laugh.

My card is this:

Have watched episode #9 of The Untamed and it remains ridiculously pretty.

Have also watched the first five episodes of King's Avatar. I am liking it in spite of the fact that I am not a gamer.

I have technically not watched any more episodes yet because I was finishing watching something else but I might possibly have had the soundtrack on repeat all evening.

It is very pretty to listen to.

Have had a good few days of watching dramas and listening to music.

Last week I finally finished Hwarang. I wouldn't say it was the best drama ever and I could really care less about the romantic sub-plots. I found the coming together of the Hwarang knights to be much more enjoyable.

I also continue to listen to entirely too much BTS because they make me smile.

This weekend [personal profile] solo and [personal profile] in_the_bottle introduced me to The Untamed which I have quickly come to love. We also re-watched several episodes of Guardian.

Solo also introduced Kat-Tun to my musical knowledge and I am enjoying listening to/watching them. Thanks to Solo I can now also say that I have watched all of Gokusen 2.

It has been a fun fannish week indeed.

I looked at 'marked for later' in my AO3 account and there were over 30 pages of fics. This is what happens when I take notions to re-read in older fandoms.

Knowing fine well that I am never going to get to them all, I finally took the plunge and cleared them all. It feels rather good to be unencumbered. My unofficial goal is to have no more than 10 fics marked for later at any one time going forward.

Now, if I could just do that with my myriad open tabs as well...

*blows off the cobwebs*

Been a bit of a busy few weeks of family weddings and excursions to foreign places (Istanbul is big, hectic and fabulous).

My most exciting action of late has been a trip to the cinema to watch Ad Astra. I liked it?

It is a bit odd but not as boring as Gravity nor as annoying as Interstellar (apologies to any that liked those movies but they weren't my cup of tea).

I have been trying to think what Brad Pitt's acting reminded me of all afternoon and I think it is actually Mr & Mrs Smith. The tone he used is very reminiscent of the way Smith expressed his feelings throughout that movie. Maybe that is what has slanted my perceptions.

Ad Astra is worth watching on a larger screen, that I 100% agree with. I chose not to do IMAX but it will probably knock it out of the park in that format.

I just realised exactly how not organised I am about flying off to Istanbul next week.

Methinks an epic to-do list is required (and possibly breathing into a paper bag). 😂

I know it is not that bad but today had been a day which just makes it feel that way.

I have been sucked into BTS World on my phone... I am too old and grumpy for this nonsense, what am I doing?!

Still, it is fun. 😂😀

Still stunning visually and the soundtrack remains amazing.

Things are starting to get more interesting but I am finding it hard to want to binge watch this show. I let things rumble about in my head for a while and then head for the next episode. In between time I am watching episodes of various other shows.

I take it that the general consensus when filming this show was to make it stunningly beautiful?

Still have to dig out that helpful primer bookmark before I go any further as it is obvious that things are going to get twisty in the plot shenanigans.

Love the music! Is the soundtrack available?

Yikes, July is proceeding speedily along, or so it seems to me. June was far more sedate and respectable. *g*

Work is work, nothing exciting particularly but a necessary evil to be able to pay for things.

Things I have enjoyed:
a) Reading fanfic in various fandoms (particularly Good Omens because it makes me smile).
b) Watching entirely too much foreign dramas and animation.
c) Becoming ridiculously obsessed with BTS and continuing to be fascinated with Hua Chenyu (its the most interesting music listening has been in a while).
d) I managed a fic for the July theme for the brush_and_lantern in spite of the aforementioned hectic nature of July.

Things I endured:
Shopping for an outfit for a family wedding. I hate clothes shopping with a passion!

Things I am looking forward to:
Trip to London at the end of the month - LFCC (London Film & Comic Con) - with perhaps a stop off at the Manga exhibition at the British Museum.

Hope everyone else is having a reasonably serene July.

Well, a week later than planned I have finally started watching Nirvana in Fire.

It is very pretty, isn't it? I also love the score, it is very evocative.

General first impression is that this is gonna get convoluted very fast. I will need to dig through my multitude of bookmarks to find the NiF primer that someone helpfully posted a while ago.

Not sure if I am going to love it but I am curious enough to watch more.

Saw it, liked a lot of it but not all of it. I do like Tom Holland as Spiderman.

There are two post credit scenes for those that like to know these things in advance.

Spiderman Far From Home should do well at the box office and is an interesting way to finish Phase 3.

I really shouldn't have started watching episode 1. Time seems to have zoomed by somehow since I just had to make myself not start episode 4.

Oops? Ah, well. I already have at least four shows I am part way through watching, another one won't hurt. 😁

When I start watching Nirvana in Fire on Friday after work, then I might admit to being a tad out of control with my viewing schedule. 😂

Good Omens

Took my time with Good Omens as I have been a bit tied up with work and not watching quite as much tv. Found it to be quite delightful and I adore the two leads in their respective roles. I will probably fall headlong into fanfic reading for the show/book for a few days.

I plan to continue watching some ongoing foreign language dramas that I started on Netflix and perhaps start a Guardian re-watch soon.

Also finally starting Nirvana in Fire this week but I plan to take my time with that one.

Well, 19 - 21 were quite all right and everyone looked suitably shiny in their party clothes.

I now see why everyone seems to have issues with 22 - 24. Talk about continuity inconsistencies. I understand the series got cut to 24 episodes but sheesh. It would have been helpful to actually care in the slightest about Wei Feng.

All the other characters I have come to love were all far more interesting to me.

This will be a show where I love the set design, costumes, characters and actors but also one where I will prefer the fanfic to what was put on screen.

One of my favourite animated movies has appeared on Netflix. I am a happy and smiley person.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole.

That is all. 😊

Are there any decent websites out there that review dramas from Asia?

I am aware now of various places to find the episodes but I would like to know more about them. For example, some of the dramas on UK Netflix list episode summaries but some others don't. I have taken a chance on a few, most have worked out but others have been a definite nope and a quick press of the back button.

I generally don't mind spoilers so I would be happy with any semi-sensible reviews.

Saw X-Men Dark Phoenix. I wish I could say that I enjoyed it. It is watchable but not really what I would describe as enjoyable.

It has a couple of redeeming features but not enough that I will actively seek out the opportunity to watch the movie again.

(Edited for a typo).
