Randomly dropping by to say that I have watched all of Falling Into Your Smile.

I am not sure where this minor obsession with e-sports drama has come from but it is now the 3rd complete drama I have watched set in this industry. I don't play any electronic games so it is a bit of an odd viewing choice for me.

I never claimed to be sensible.

At this point, this is currently just somewhere I log what I am viewing. Finite amount of time in the day and too many other distractions is leading to sporadic use of the journal.

I have finished season 2 of The Witcher. Liked it enough that I will watch the next one when it comes.

Also up to episode 6 of Blue Period which is a Japanese animation on Netflix.

One I am not so sure about so far is The Silent Sea (also Netflix), just watched episode 1 so far.

I finished something!

Hallelujah, I thought I had forgot how to watch something from start to finish. I have a ridiculous amount of things that I am stalled on watching.

I have finished the animation Heaven's Official Blessing in Netflix. I actually rather enjoyed it and it was very pretty to look at.

I will see if I can progress back to completing something else now... maybe one of the fluffier dramas.

Have switched to try a Korean drama for a bit. I have now finished the first two episodes of Hometown Cha Cha Cha and so far it is mellow and enjoyable.

Finished Word of Honor

The drama seems to have captured my attention. I seem to have reached episode 27 already. Oops? 😂

Pesky thing called work is slowing down the binge watching but that is probably a good thing.

Other things that I have watched include the documentary about The Loneliest Whale in the World and also the first part of In The Soop 2 with BTS.

Bit if a mixed bag but all good.

I still haven't decided if I am going to watch Squid Game.

I have watched the first 3 episodes of Word of Honour. It is pretty to look at but I am not sure yet if I like it. We will see.

Weekend break

I had my first weekend break in forever and visited family friends in a Scottish coastal town called Largs (It has a Viking connection in case anyone is somewhat curious).

It was so nice to be somewhere other than home that I cannot really describe it. The former mundane is now terribly exciting.

Well, I am still not watching anything new but I did dig out an old favourite on DVD.

Hopscotch is from 1980 and stars Walter Mattha, Glenda Jackson, Herbert Lom and others. It is definitely dated but I still adore it. 👍👍

How is it possible that May is the last time I logged in? I have given up on my inbox and just deleted everything.

Should anyone still remember me, I hope life has been treating you kindly.

I am still fully immersed in listening to music and reading. I have stuck with rewatching old favourites in drama land because I get two or three episodes into new shows and just seen to lose interest.

If anyone had any suggestions, I would gladly add them to the 'give it a go' list.

The Untamed (done again)

Well, so much for remembering to update during my latest re-watch, I think we can call that an epic fail. 😂

Still don't like grumpy uncle Lan. Elder of the twin jades was less vexing this time around and younger one remains a secret bunny loving ball of mush that should get all the hugs.

I continue to adore Wei Ying wholeheartedly but understand that Lan Zhan has first dibs.

Everyone else was much of a muchness on this latest viewing, liked the ones I liked and was annoyed by the ones that annoyed me before.

I think my only true surprise was that I found Nie Huisang creepier this time around. Last re-watch didn't hit me the same way so I was somewhat surprised by that reaction.

In other news, I am still watching/listening to BTS and having a ball doing so.

Should any random person be reading this, I hope life is treating you well.

The Untamed re-watch

Didn't quite make it to episode 10 as I got distracted by the BTS Winter Package that I finally had delivered. 😁

Did get to the end of episode 7 which meant a delightful mix of drunk shenanigans, lots of Lan ribbon stuff, Lan Yi and bunnies.

Our intrepid lead characters are so shiny and righteous that they practically glow with youth and innocence. So much angst to come, oh my.

Also forgot quite how much the Lan secret keeping of 100 years and Lan Yi's major oops actually set in motion. Makes the overwhelming blame heading the way of a particular young cultivator with a twinkle in his eye even more vexing.

I keep reminding myself that the angst to come is required so things can be fixed. 😂😁

The Untamed

Well, back to the beginning I went. I forgot how much I loved this show.

The start should still come with a warning that things will make more sense soon-ish.

The baby Lan cultivators are so new and shiny it is like they squeak if they turn the corner too fast.

It also amazes me how 'the man with the fan' is so blatantly there and how I overlooked him so completely on my first viewing of the show.

The two main leads remain shiny and pretty. I know I have much emotional turmoil to come but it shall be worth it. Still love the soundtrack an inordinate amount as well.

My loose target for myself is to get to say episode 10 by the end of the weekend.

Bit of an update on viewing

I eventually had to give up on doing a full Guardian re-watch as I kept get distracted by Douluo Continent. As a result, for the latter half of Guardian I just watched favourite scenes to reinforce my love for our beautifully tormented tragic heroes.

I did make it through all of the aforementioned Douluo Continent which was supremely silly and sweet, I loved it.

I am working my way through the Bon Voyage seasons of the BTS reality show. It is cheerful and offers vicarious travel while the world is still mostly stuck at home.

Once the holiday weekend is over, I am planning to watch The Untamed again.

To anybody reading this, I hope you and yours are healthy, happy and that life is treating you well.

Chaotic viewing habits

I need a better method of viewing things, that is the realisation that I have come to. 😂

Guardian re-watch -- Shen Wei is chained to a pillar and nobly enduring.

Douluo Continent -- I have just finished episode 27?! Still supremely odd and slightly silly but I am liking it.

Nirvana in Fire -- tried to give this a go again, stalled on episode 3.

BTS Bon Voyage Season 1 -- ready to watch epiosode 5.

Chinese Dramas

I have to remember to log into this account more, my bad.

Got so distracted by random nonsense over the last few weeks that I completely lost track of my Guardian re-watch so I started again... oops?

I am now to the point where Zhao Yunlan has figured out who Shen Wei is and now just had to get him to admit it, fun times are imminent. 😁

Other than that, I have watched the first four episodes of DouLuo Continent. Xiao Zhan's character is fun and intriguing, the ensemble cast is growing on me and the show itself is quite goofy but I like it so far.

I keep telling myself I don't need to be rewatching The Untamed at the same time but we'll see how long that lasts.

Korean Music

Guardian re-watched paused temporarily as the new BTS album BE was released on November 20th. I might possibly have been having a ball listening to ALL the BTS music and watching music videos for a week.

I shall return to other behaviour of a geeky nature next week.

For those even remotely interested, the new BTS album was conceived/recorded during the pandemic and I do recommend that you give the songs a listen (there are only seven plus 1 skit of the band talking/laughing) and then look up the lyrics. You might be pleasantly surprised by what you hear/read. Entirely up to you, though.

Guardian re-watch continues

I had been concerned that I might not enjoy Guardian quite as much this time around since it is a while since I watched it. I am pleased to say that is not the case.

I missed this show, cheesy special effects and all.

I have now watched #3-5 again, Shen Wei has moved to keep an eye on his Zhao Yunlan and the eye-pining continues to progress well. It makes me smile. Creepy mirror lady episode next so that shall be fun.

Noble Pining aka Guardian

The last few months have been predominantly focussed on listening to music and reading rather than watching things but I have eventually managed to finish Itaewon Class so I decided I was in the mood to revisit some noble pining.

Having decided that the suggestion of trobadora was a wise one, I have now rewatched the first two episodes of Guardian... I missed this show. The craziness is only surpassed by the pining of the pretty, pretty young men.

Okay, I had genuine intentions of going back through all the many, many entries that I have missed. Got to what seemed like skip a billion and gave up.

Sincere apologies if I missed anything important.

I might send random cards to people if I already have your address. I have found another huge bundle of fandom postcards in another box. I swear they were breeding because I do not remember buying all this stuff.

If anyone randomly wants a card/postcard then DM me your address. The walk to the local Post Office would get me out of the house.

Blows off the cobwebs

So much for intending to be more present in August... oops.

At the start of September my friends and I managed to enjoy our rescheduled staycation (postponed from June). It may be biased to say the Scottish Highlands are very pretty but they definitely are. 😁

Cottage we stayed at had a gorgeous location next to one of the very pretty lochs in the area, we saw lots of pretty birds and the odd highland cow or two during our travels. Visited Culloden, John o' Groats, Inverness and did the obligatory cruise on Loch Ness.

Spent the rest of the month catching up at work but a price I am willing to pay for the fun we had.

I finished watching something!

I finally finished watching something! I honestly thought I had forgotten how to actually start and finish something.

The programme in question is a slightly older Taiwanese one called Lion Pride. It was a Netflix suggestion so I gave it a go. It wasn't my normal type of choice for a foreign drama but it was enjoyable enough. Each episode was about an hour and ten minutes long, I am soooo not used to that anymore.

I think my reward will be to start The Untamed again. 😁

I have never seen Game of Thrones, I have never particularly wanted to... though I must admit the pictures of the Dire Wolves always looked good.

Having said that, I have now bought the Dalwhinnie and Oban whiskies that are part of the Game of Thrones range of single malts.

Wacky whisky purchase for the easing of lockdown. 😁

Minimalism

I am puttering around online but very quietly. For the most part, I have been sticking to reading fanfic and listening to music on Spotify. It has been fairly mellow actually.

Considering the state of the world right now, I will probably do the same for the next couple of weeks. I will watch/read news stories in a way that doesn't make me want to scream and then return to music and reading to calm down.
