Can anyone direct me to a post explaining the gist of the differences in the special edition of The Untamed?

Should I bother with it or just re-watch the original version?

If it's your first rewatch, I'd watch the original version. I've found the show incredibly rewarding on rewatch once you actually know what's what, and the special edition does cut quite a bit of stuff.

That said, I've watched two episodes of the special edition and as an extra, it's kind of fun, some of the cuts do make sense in terms of speeding up the plot, and against my expectations (I thought they'd make it more plot heavy, less relationship heavy) they've put in a few extra shots that make some scenes between Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian even more intense. But if you go from one round of the original to the special edition, you might end up very confused what's actually in what.

Concurring with

jo_lasalle. I watched the special edition up to ep 10, and while I appreciated that they cut out some of the crying-on-a-boat, just for instance, they also cute out some bits I loved (manure shovelling, anyone? incarceration with a slavering dog, anyone?) in return actmittedly, for giving my more rolling around connected by a headband and some more Lan Zhan nipples...

I'm basically now watching for people with more patience than me (and the world must be full of them) to gif all the relevant new bit and will enjoy them that way.

For comprehension, the original is definitely better.
