Working from home

My employer is being really rather brilliant about working from home. The teams that make up my department (3 teams across the country) have been told to work from home since Wednesday. Plan is potentially for 12 weeks. If the situation allows it we'll be back in stages before that but we have been told to plan accordingly. Those with underlying health conditions will be last back. I have asthma so I am more or less expecting up to 12 weeks at home.

It is the end of day 2 and I miss walking about. Furthest I have been is a five minute walk outside.

I am planning on a lot of Netflix, Amazon Prime and Spotify.

I fear boredom and growing stir crazy, I worry about family and friends getting this sodding virus and I am fervently hoping for the best.

That is excellent news - I'm very glad your employer is being so reasonable and organized! Yeah, it'll be a challenge to keep our spirits up through these next weeks, but I'm comforting myself with the thought of how much better we have it than people 80 years ago or so would have. We can still stay connected and informed even without leaving our homes, and have infinite entertainment at our fingertips. Not so bad, comparatively speaking. ;-)

Totally! I have lots of books, CDs and DVDs but I am so grateful that online content is there to make the selection that much wider.

The situation is making my parents finally embrace video calls to see family in the other end of the country rather than just talk to them. Not an option years ago.
